Konstantin Drutsky-Lyubetsky
(1893-1940), Prince of the Druk coat of arms, a certified colonel of the Polish Army, author of textbooks and articles in the military press. During the First World War, he was a lieutenant in the 12th Hussar Regiment, where he was wounded. In 1918-1921 he served in the mounted self-defense unit of Vilnius.
During his service, he received the rank of regimental commander, and in October 1920 he commanded a squadron and allowed troops to occupy the demarcation line near Minsk, for which he was awarded the Order of the fifth degree. During the interwar period, he lectured at the Cavalry Training Center, was the commander of the 2nd Cavalry Regiment.
In August 1938, he was appointed deputy commander of the Vilnius Cavalry Brigade, and a year later assumed full command of this brigade. During the September campaign, he commanded this brigade and was wounded in the village of Leshchina, after which he was captured by Soviet troops. He became a victim of the Katyn list. General Vladislav Anders promoted him posthumously to the rank of Brigadier General.
Endel-Ragis Leopold
(1894-1943), a certified colonel of the infantry of the Polish Army. In 1918, he was the commander of one of the battalions of prisoners of war (Polish military organization) in the area of Piotrkow. In 1922-1924, he attended the regular course of the Military Academy in Warsaw, and upon completion of the course on October 1, 1924, he was awarded the rank of General Staff Officer and sent to the 3rd General Staff of the Polish Army. In 1925-1927, he was Chief of Staff of the 7th Infantry Division in Czestochowa.
Then he was commander of the infantry regiment of the 8th Legion in Lublin, and on December 24, 1929, he was promoted to the rank of colonel by the President of the Republic of Poland Ignacy Moscicki. From December 1, 1930 - Chief of Staff of the II Corps Command in Lublin. In 1934-1939, he commanded the rifle division of the 9th Infantry Division in Sedltsy.
In March 1939, he took command of the 22nd Mountain Division. According to the plans, the 22nd Mountain Division was supposed to become part of the "Lodz" army, but due to problems with mobilization and constant bombing of the railways, the units never reached the place. His regiment was transferred to the Olkusha area on the night of September 2-3. During heavy fighting, units under the command of Leopold Endel-Ragis were forced to withdraw to Staszow. During the battle, he received a gunshot wound to the head, but the medics from his unit managed to save him, and he recovered relatively quickly.
